International Film Festival of India is a momentous and an important film festival in all of Asia.This magnificent event is organized every year on the beach town of Goa. The aim of IFFI is to provide a universal platform to the artistes & cinemas of the world in the field of Film and TV excellence.

Film festivals in India were structured by the Films Division of Government of India back in 1952. Since its inception, IFFI has showcased many great cult movies and moviemakers. The platform has achieved extreme success in a span of 60 years. This year’s IFFI edition was special and marked the 100th year of Indian Cinema.

The 2012 edition of IFFI 2012 was held in Goa, for boosting & promoting Goa tourism . This festival has been of prime importance to the Indian film industry and carries a great value in and around the globe. This year’s celebration saw popular cine actor Akshay Kumar inaugurating the cinematic extravaganza.

Apart from celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema, the IFFI 2012 held in Goa was also showcasing 27 films and 36 documentaries, capturing every era of the golden cinematic history.

Goa is now the permanent venue of film festivals, mostly because the town has much more to offer than any other Indian city. IFFI 2012 sprawled over ten days, starting from 20th November and finally ending on 30th.
