A celebration of an epic magnitude, Rann Utsav is a three month long festival which is seeped deep into the culture and heritage of Gujarat. Cradled in The Great Rann of Kutch, the festivity is a riot of colour sprinkled on the largest salt marsh of the world. It offers an excellent opportunity to local artisans, folk artists & musicians of Kutch to showcase their tradition to the rest of the world. Starting from 1st November 2016 and continuing up to 20th February 2017, this year the Rann Utsav will be attended by locals and tourists alike.

The occasion of life, festivities, culture and everything in between, the Rann Utsav envelopes the state in a frenzy that can put the best vocabulary to shame. There’s a lot one can do while visiting the greatest desert festivals in Asia. Read on to know more.

Surrounded by a number of tourist attractions, the places in and around Kutch are not easy to miss. Start off with Dhordo, the last village in Bhuj which will startle you while you make your way to the festival. The Tent City in Dhordo is where the action takes place. You can also visit Kalo Dungar, Narayan Sarovar, Kera Shiv Temple and Bhuj.
