Eid, be it Eid ul-Fitr or Eid al-Adha, is as much about great food as it is about spending time with family and loved ones. While Eid ul-Fitr is known for all of its variety of sweet food and is hence called “Sweet Eid”, Eid al-Adha or Bakr-Eid is known as “Salty Eid” for its savoury spicy dishes. Nonetheless, the one thing that makes both these festivals special and all the more fun is its drool-worthy, extravagant food! Check out these 5 Eid delicacies you must try at least once! This painstakingly made dish has fragrant basmati rice with mutton marinated in yoghurt and lovely spices, cooked to perfection!

Known to be served to kings, this royal dish was typically served at breakfast after which the kings would go back to sleep till afternoon. Phirni

Out of all the Eid delicacies you must try Phirni is a total must. Another dessert that we swear by, Phirni is a kind of thick rice pudding that will have you licking the bowl. Basic ingredients include rice, cardamom and pistachios and other more extravagant ingredients may be added if you want your Phirni to taste richer. Gorge on some lovely kebabs and then satisfy your craving for sweets with a bowlful of heavenly Phirni.
