IRCTC’s Initiative: Travel Accident Cover of up to Rs. 10 Lakh

We all love travelling, don’t we? Though, the “LOVE for traveling” enhances more with an insured traveling. Amazing thought, yet it isn’t just an imagination. Since, IRCTC believes in surprising constructively. It announced travel accident cover up to Rs 10 lakh for passengers who have booked via IRCTC website.

IRCTC Chairman-cum-Managing Director AK Manocha said, “At the moment, the insurance offer is under integration process and we expect it will be operationalised from September.”

Compensation provided is as follows:

  1. Compensation of up to Rs. 10 lakh will be provided in case of death or permanent total disability
  2. Compensation of Rs. 7.5 lakh will be provided in case of permanent partial disability
  3. Compensation of up to Rs. 2 lakh will be provided for hospitalization

How can one avail the scheme?

IRCTC will provide this option at the time of booking wherein the passengers can tick mark on the check-box. Thus, they will opt for travel insurance for a premium of Re. 1 while booking the e-ticket through IRCTC website. For sub-urban traveling, there is no scheme yet finalized.

  3. Shriram General

How can one avail it?

Passengers need to claim within 4 months from the time of event.
